April 24, 2013, only 3 days after our 1 year wedding anniversary, Joshua & I found out we were expecting! It was very emotional and exciting all at once. I was actually at work when I found out I was pregnant. It was toward the end of my shift with only an hour to go when I had the sudden urge to take a pregnancy test. I had been feeling "off" the last couple of days with new back pain, indigestion, & pure exhaustion and just had a feeling I was pregnant. Two positive lines and there I was in the bathroom shocked with a smile so big on my face I could hardly contain myself. I so wanted to call Joshua on the phone but I knew this was a moment we had to share in person. I drove home full of emotions - nervousness, excitement, wonder. As I walked in the door of our apartment, I looked at Joshua and just smiled. I couldn't find the words! I walked up to him, hugged him and began to cry. He told me afterwards that he just knew even before I told him that I was pregnant. It was a VERY special & emotional moment between us and one I will never forget.
The following day, I went to the doctor's and she confirmed what I already knew - I was pregnant! It was so exciting! I was 5 weeks and 2 days along :)

Today was a very special day for the both of us. We saw our precious little baby for the first time! We also heard his heartbeat, and it was one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard!

This was just a BRIEF recap of the beginning of our journey becoming parents. For the weeks to come I will post weekly updates for all our family and friends! Thank you for being a part of our lives, and we can't wait to tell you more about our precious baby!
